Keeping our history alive
The general public will benefit from learning of the lost history of the Colored Hockey League of the Maritimes – one game at a time.
If we travel back further in time, 1895-1925 saw the rise of the Colored Hockey League of the Maritimes. Through the re-enactment of commemorative CHL games – and sharing the personal histories of today’s Black hockey players – we honour our history, while providing role models for Black youth, slowly restoring diversity to the game.
